Privacy policy

The short version
CardShortlist doesn't have user accounts, doesn't collect names, emails, or phone numbers, and doesn't use tracking cookies or fingerprinting. What we do collect is described in full below.
Site analytics
We use a cookieless, privacy-preserving analytics service to see aggregate traffic figures, such as which pages get visited and roughly how much traffic comes from where. This does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not build a profile of you across visits or across other sites.
Which card you click on
When you click through to an issuer's site from a card on CardShortlist, we record which card and where on the site the click happened, along with a timestamp. That's how we measure which cards people actually apply for. This record never includes your IP address, browser/device details, or any other identifier, and there is nothing in it that could be linked back to you personally.
The quiz you fill in
Answers you give in the card-matching quiz (spend levels, income band, and preferences) are used only to compute your results in your browser session and are not stored on our servers or linked to any identifier once you leave the page.
Affiliate links
Some outbound “apply” links are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you apply through them, at no cost to you. This never changes how cards are scored or ranked; see the methodology page for how ranking works. Once you leave our site, the issuer's or affiliate network's own privacy policy governs what happens next; we don't control that.
